Optical Comparator Location

There is probably a really simple answer to this, but for the life of me I can't find it.

I'm trying to locate circles using a vision probe in manual mode. Let’s say the probe is currently at (0,0,0) and the circle I want to measure is at (10,0,0).

Sometimes when I reach the line in the program to measure the circle, while the probe is at (0,0,0), the optical comparator overlay will immediately appear on the live view. I can then drive over to (10,0,0) and line it up with the circle. In this mode, if the circle is actually at some other location, I can easily drive to the new location, line it up, and continue on with the program.

Other times the comparator doesn't show up on the screen while the probe is at (0,0,0), rather the comparator is "waiting" for me over at the point (10,0,0). In this mode, if the circle is at another location, I would have to move to (10,0,0) click on the comparator with the mouse and then drag it to the new location.

How do I switch between these behaviors?
