New to CMM software. How can apply a change to all my features?

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here and to CMM programming. Right now I'm trying to figure out how change my magnification on one of my square slot features and apply that to the rest of my square slot features. I have over 100 of them and I'm trying to find a faster way then doing it manually for each one.

Thanks in advance!
  • I am not sure this is the "wrong" section. Regardless of probe type, the need is the same, to be able to make global changes to a program. Find and Replace is one of these tools. At one time there was also a BASIC script.

My apoligizes John. Your right the need is the same to change something in all features regardless of probe. The Magnafication and mention of the camera threw me off the point of applying changes to all features. I have also just recently made the mistake of mention to another user try posting a thread in another forum realizing they had posted in the right one. I use the new post button alot so it shows the new threads from all forums.

    Hi

New for 2014 will be a Copy/Paste parameter functionality which will enable you to copy & paste feature parameters from one feature to multiple features. In previous versions, then this could be achieved with the Find / Replace functionality
  • Sounds real nice, Neil - provided it works as expected.

It seems to work in the quick test I did - copy Z value from one autofeature, mark a lot of features (with different Z values) and paste only this Z value in all of them with just one click.
