New to CMM software. How can apply a change to all my features?

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here and to CMM programming. Right now I'm trying to figure out how change my magnification on one of my square slot features and apply that to the rest of my square slot features. I have over 100 of them and I'm trying to find a faster way then doing it manually for each one.

Not sure exactly what you mean about manification but. You could try find and replace function. You will find this under EDIT-FIND AND REPLACE-REPLACE. This will give you a dialog boxes that will allow to search threw the program and replace what your serching for too suit. HTH

I think you might have this in the wrong section. You might want to post in the Vision section. You might have a better chance of a helpful response. I have never seen this cause I have only used touch probe systems. and never used pcdmis vision (not sure if thats what its called)

I am not sure this is the "wrong" section. Regardless of probe type, the need is the same, to be able to make global changes to a program. Find and Replace is one of these tools. At one time there was also a BASIC script.

I think find/replace only works if the command is expanded, i.e. the text you want to replace is visible for the search. Not absolutely sure though, so try it out.

There is something called "Command Editor" that might do what you want (editing multiple commands at once) here:

I am not familiar with a "magnification" command, but maybe the Edit Data Field Wizard is what you want.
I use this whenever I want to change a particular setting in all (or many) features within a program.

In Version 3.7 you can find it in the "Add-Inns" tool bar.

This is true. The text must be visible in the edit window. In nearly all cases where parameters can be collapsed there will be a "Show All Parameter" yes/no toggle. So the first thing you do is do a Find and Replace to replace Show All Parameters=No with Show all parameters=Yes. This will expand everything. Now do a find and replace for Magnification=xxxx to Magnification=yyyyy. Then do another find and replace to switch all the show parameters back to no to collapse everything again.

This won't really help here. But.......With PC-Dmis vision, there is an 'Autotune' button, in the same bar as the program execute button. If you click this and run your program, you can change lighting, and other parameters (not sure about may though!).
Copy parameter is coming ;-)
