I get this message about 50% of the time when trying to take a surface point. The machine will focus in and out, but sometimes will freeze up and I get this error. Any ideas?
Which version/release/build? Just one program or does this happen in all programs? Details my friend! With more info, we'll be glad to help if at all possible.
Check the Z axis scale. If this is an intermittent problem, maybe your scale might be dirty. Last resort, your bearing in the Z axis might be seizing. A few years back our Z axis seized up. Do you hear any noise coming from that area?
