Hexagon Vision issue(s) ladies and gents......

I posted in a thread in CMM regarding PC-DMIS 2019 R2 SP2 and mentioned was a bit 'irritated' about Hexagon in general (new SMA policy) and more specific: about Hardware Service.
And I said I'd state my issues in Vision, so I am:
My company bought a Optiv 443 Performance Dual Z machine from Hexagon. Machine was circa 2015. We bought it as a demo. (30K discount) Once delivered and set up on our site? The Hex tech
(more than 20 yrs experience) spent a WEEK troubleshooting problems. Got it working, but was called back for more issues within a month. OK. Got it working again. (unfortunately Roger left us Disappointed )
Fast forward to 2019. 6 months ago, problems began with the X axis. Tech spent 1 week on the X axis. Swapped out the X & Y servos.... decided that fixed it. 2 weeks later?
Same problem came back. Came again, This time the machine needed 'tuning'. OK. Now it's running. But... during this week of tech magic? His last day crashed out probe (the Leitz body). Ouch.
Next day sent from Wixom, Mi... a new one arrives. End of this week of tech wizardry, the tech calibrates it. Leaves. Machine is working.
But...wait! We get billed for a FULL day labor for calibrating a probe that HE CRASHED! After talking to Hexagon, the service manager took off billed hours/hotel/etc for the day of fixing what the tech crashed.
A few months later? X axis problem again. The same $hit. This is THREE times.

Long story short? After contacting Doug S., and Dave H. the problem was a flexible coupling. I had mentioned before the machine died the last time, X axis moves made a click. Dave sent a pic to check out a location, and bazzzzing! That was it. FedEx'd the part next day and all is good. $65 bucks. (we had 2 projects which we could only inspect on the Optiv, so we were in a rock and a hard place)
Hexagon blows chunks for the SMA stuff in the readme.pdf for 2019 R2 SP2:

... PCD-176746 - Added a change to our service pack policy that requires a Software Maintenance Agreement for installation.

$crew the bean counters for making us pay for bugs in releases they sold us.

BUT..... Hexagon guys like Doug Sjogren and Dave Harvey are golden.
