Looking for some input or advice at my current workplace we have a family of parts that are about 30x40 inches a rectangular shape, the only difference between each part number is hole/slot locations. The customer has some gd&t on the drawing for true position. Currently the inspection process for these in process takes a decent amount of time because of all the features, i am wondering if a vision system would be the way to go for inspection on the floor for these parts, but I am unaware if they make vision systems that could fit a part of that volume.
I am wondering if anyone on here uses vision systems on parts that large, we have to do a check every hour for these parts so i don't want to have the cmm going every hour all day so that option i don't want to suggest, if their is any other inspection tools i am open to what they would be as well if anyone has experience with this. I just want something simple the floor inspector can put the part on and execute.
