I'm new to PCDMIS extended programming and unfortunately I didn't get a proper Hexagon training.
While checking topics related to CMM , I could see so many people using
codes in order to execute certain measurements.
Sometimes , There were codes to extract points from features ( Line , circle ...etc...) Which i haven't seen inside the PCDMIS open options.
My simple question is ,
These kind of codes really created by Hexagon for the flexibility in doing programs ?
Is there any special programming language for this ?
Where do I find examples of these kinds of programming using codes ?
I couldn't find any recourses to learn these programming skill. Is there any link available ? to understand the basic basic syntax for these programming ?
There are so many different things you can do, that to give you an example may not be beneficial to you. There is coding with PC-DMIS language using variable, I/O commands, pulling data points out of auto features, etc. There is also Visual Basic that can be utilized within PC-DMIS. I don't use this too often, however there are a lot of people that do.
My question is: What do you want to do? Once we have that answer, we might be able to help you specifically.
If you know how to program using Summary Mode, you can toggle back and forth between that and Command Mode to see the code that is being written while you program in Summary.
View>Summary/Command.
I think you may be referring to custom scripts, though . . .
I'm using both Modes.
I'm more flexible with command mode. But I haven't used I/O commands / Visual basic coding for programming.
Since my work doesn't require that much of programming skills , none of my collogues doesn't want to learn as well. But I felt like I'm not using PCDMIS the way it needs to.
I tried to learn in YouTube but - couldn't see any kind of tutorials / explanations. But in this forum - lot of people taking about VB codes.
So to learn more about this subject I'm looking forward for any websites or YouTube channel or Blogs or any files or links ...etc..
Yes , more likely about scripts. I was amazed to see - people here in this forum suggest different scripts/ VB codes for same requirement.
I wonder how this even possible for a beginner who doesn't get any training from Hexagon.
