I have an internal spline that I need to measure....no cad file . What is the best way to go about this on a vision sysem? The part has been edm wire cut and polished for a reasonably good picture
Using V4.2, you can use the Profile 2d auto feature. If the edge is strong, you can try double clicking on the edge in the live view, and it will trace around the feature, creating a target at the end that is capable of measuring the form. If the edge quality is not strong enough, you can instead click a series of guide points around the form, swap to Show Target button, and graphically manipulate the target so that it fits the spline shape.
