Should be an easy question.
Never used a tesa 300 before.(or any of the new systems for that matter)
When you turn the unit on (in the back) does the lamp automatically come on, or is there an icon in pcdmis that you have to click to make it come on??
It is likely there are several types of lights, bottom, top and probably a ring LED light as well. I can't answer your question specifically but it may be controled with the "jog box" or through PCDMIS or likely through both.
You can switch from "cad" to "live" and the screen is just black. no light comes on.
How often do the bulbs need replacing?
This is brand new - just has not been used for about a year.
my smartscope has control knobs you turn
The view 1220 the light was controlled within the menu structure
The other ogp i used to run was also controlled within the menu structure
Had a dropdown box for lighting......sorry
Bulbs don't really need replacing unless they break, but you should calibrate them every 6 months or so. This is done in the Probe Utilities dialog, click Measure and select Calibrate Illumination.
You don't need any artifact other than a piece of paper, or even better, a sample of the material from a part that you will typically be measuring, that fills the live view.
Advice for "Kid" A bit of advice for those about to retire. If you are only 65, never move to a retirement community. Everybody else is n their 70s, 80s, or 90s. So when something has to be moved, lifted or loaded, they yell,"Get the kid."
