Offline programming questions

Okay I am still new at doing offline programming but getting better at it. Here's my deal though. I like the idea of starting with a read point and aligning to that to tell the CMM where to start. Then I want to use a hole (preferably a datum point for the part) but I want to use auto features, auto circle so I can align to that next. When I put my machine into DCC mode while in offline how do I get auto circle to work. In online or manual I always need to take an initial hit to locate the position of the circle while in DCC my probe tip wont go there or do anything while in offline. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

  • To my knowledge, using Ctrl-E works in that fashion when you are accessing the program script; I use it often to retake hits, but I am talking about having the probe in a virtual cad graphic window and trying to create an auto circle. The probe will not locate to the hole when I try to move it with the mouse; not as long as I have the auto circle window open.

I do the same thing (when CAD is available) -

    DCC mode ON
Open the autofeature (circle) window and click on the feature you want to create a circle from. The auto feature fields should display the XYZ, etc. of the feature you selected. Adjust as necessary and create. Then Ctrl-E to test run it.
