Undimensioned Features

I'm looking for an option that appears in Zeiss' Calypso hoping that there's a similar approach with DMIS.
When programming a complex part with a model, I like to program around the part in a logical manner measuring all features
I can reach. I then dimension what I've measured to the customer's drawing. There are occasions where a feature on the part
is not dimensioned on the drawing but I've measured it. Calypso won't run a non dimensioned feature thereby leaving that feature grey as an indicator is wasn't dimensioned. This prevents me from missing anything on the part whether it's been dimensioned on the drawing on not. DMIS on the other hand will measure everything, dimensioned or not.
Is there a way for me to tell that one of say 500 features is measured but not dimensioned with DMIS?

Thanks

  • I apologize for the confusion. Simply stated, picture writing a program to the part, not the drawing. 'beeping' every single physical feature on that part. I get to the end and I begin dimensioning from the print. I want to know when I'm done, what features I 'beeped' that were not dimensioned by the drawing (maybe it was missed on the drawing, whatever). If anyone has any Calypso experience you'd understand what I'm trying to do. Of course I know how to modify dimension results.

    Sorry I misunderstood your question too.

    Why would you program that way? Not all features may need to be dimensioned. Some may be for manufacturing purposes only. If it is an assembly so of the features have already been dimensioned and are not required. Does the print callout

    "All General Surfaces to some Profile Feature Frame"
    "All Trim Edge to a Trim Profile Feature Frame"
    All Circular Features to some True Position Feature Frame"

    Or in some BLOCK does it say

    x.x = +/- 1.0
    xx.xx = +/- .05
    xxx.xxx = +/- .01 or something to that affect?
