A word of caution, we work in automotive and our CAD files can get quite large (whole car). In order to get the model to respond better, we change our tessellation up to 2 or 2.5. FYI
I haven't seen anyone mention this on the forum so I thought I should make sure everyone knows that you can increase the tessellation value on the probe to make it appear better on screen. It also makes collision detection work better with small diameter probes (Less false positive collisions detected - it also helps to have the tessellation value set smaller on the part model).
In the registry there is a setting called ProbeTessellationMultiplyValue. The default is 1. I prefer it to be set at 0.1.
Definitely helps with collision detection. Had a boatload of circles that the demon insisted would collide with the probe. Drove me crazy trying to get it to work. Happened to change to the number of hits that matched the tessellation. Collisions automagically were gone. Changed the tessellation and changed the number of hits and life was good. I may be able to retire from this place with more than 3 hairs on my scalp.
