Q6 Version screen locks using plotting

ConfusedWhy is it that windows will lock up after I have used the CUTDEVPL command. Is there no way out (like the old CTRL-Z with Unix) when this happening. I have to re-boot the system every time it happens. I generally have to save my work before using any plot commands.

Thanks -

  • I found out that Q6 doesn,t like dual core or hype theading
  • Please contact us (steven.wojciechowski@hexagonmetrology.com) with regards to this issue (Quindos 'locking up' after CUTDEVLP). If you wait long enough, on order of ~3-5min, Quindos will eventually return so that you do not have to reboot. The issue is most like an incorrect setting in the printer/plotter configurations.

With regards to JVau's 'issue' of Q6 not 'liking' dual core or hyperthreading, this is true of old version of Quindos6. One can either update to a newer version of Q6 or better yet upgrade to Q7. The issue is that earlier versions of Q6 were created prior to these advancements in computers (i.e hyper threading and dual cores do not exist when Q6 was created).
