Learning curve / programming methods

Hello,

At this moment we are using Mitutoyo together with their software Mcosmos.
Here we use normal programming, thus not thru CAD.
This works great for us since we are not allowed to us CAD files for inspection.
This also gives the advantage that the programmer knows what he needs to measure and how it will be measured.

Yet we are not satisfied with Mitutoyo's view on several topics and the overall service they provide.

For Quindos i have read that they are certified software by the PTB
Which topics in the software are certified?
(This could be a great PLUS for our company)

Questions:

Can Quindos program in "textual" context as in Mcosmos? (CAD not allowed)

How long to copy measering strategies from Mcosmos to PC-DMIS?
(either by our programmer of by consultancy)

Thanks.

  • In response to your question ; 'Which topics in the software are certified?' Quindos has certification from the PTB for the algorithms calculating standard geometries (i.e. circles,planes,spheres,cylinders,.....) and has also been certified for gear evaluations

In repsonse to; Can Quindos program in "textual" context as in Mcosmos? As I am not familiar with Mcosmos, I can make the comparison. however, I will note that Quindos can be programmed both with and without CAD information and both in textual and graphical context.

In repsonse to; How long to copy measering strategies from Mcosmos to PC-DMIS? Are you asking about Quindos or PC-DMIS ? Again ,since I am not familiar with Mcosmos, I can not compare both. However, many softwares and computer programming languages are similar. Once one is familiar with a programming language, the structure of the code and programming format is similar for many different languages.
