How to figure point density in Q7 when scanning

Scanning a 3.125 ring gauge with 5 pts/mm at 10mm/sec. Collecting 255 points in ring gauge. The circum. of the ring gauge is 9.82 in. or 249.428 mm. I am getting ready to scan a 48" dia. and trying to figure
out how set the number of points per/mm to a reasonable amount.

Well, the larger 1 is about 5 times the smaller 1, so if go to 1pt/mm, that would yield about 255 points. If you feel that is not enough, change your point density. Good luck.
