Aacceleration

Is it possible to change the maximum acceleration of the machine in individual axes directly from the Quindos?
From what I can see, I can only do it directly in the controller.

  • the command PTODEV (pass to device) can be used to change the machine acceleration(s) from within Quindos. However, just because you 'can', doesn't necessarily mean you should.... changing machine accelerations could affect machine accuracy/performance. At the same time, it also depends upon what machine/controller you have.... Leitz machines, with B3 and newer (B4 & B5) do not allow for certain machine parameters to be changed by the host software (i.e Quindos or PC-DMIS)... machine acceleration(s) is just such a parameter that is not allowed to be changed.... editing the Leitz INIFILE is only method to change certain machine parameters .... so even though PC-DMIS 'has such possibilitiy'... if you are using a Leitz machine, the controller is merely ignoring PC_DMIS.... and one would not know this as PC-DMIS will not report that the parameter change is ignored.
