Calculate flatness in a plane with diferent height

Hello all,

I have to calculate a flatness with 2 diferent heights (see image).
I've already probed the 2 planes.
How can this be done in QUINDOS?
Thanks in advance

  • Your callout is wrong, no matter what metrology system you are using. Two planes at different heights cannot share a CZ in flatness.

Surface profile is OK here though. I'd suggest you use that and tell the person who made the drawing to go with surface profile instead.

    The drawing is wrong.
  • I have been arguing this with designers and checkers several times. I haven't been able to find a place in the ISO standard that allows for flatness CZ for planes at different levels. Asking people with more knowledge of the standard says the same. Neil - could you direct me to where in the ISO standard this is explained?

In order for CZ to apply, they need to be coplanar (same height). ISO 5458:2018 + Annex C.
