Can Quindos intersect a nominal line with a measured curve? For instance, let's say I have a curve in the YZ plane at the X value of 0.0 mm. Then I construct a nominal line with the X axis value of 0.0 mm, a Y value of 12 mm, a Z value of 8MM, and the line parallel to the X axis with no deviation in Y or Z. (This is assuming that the curve is compensated normal to the surface and instead of center of ball).
Based on your description & assuming you are working in YZ, then a vertical line, parallel to the X axis at (0,12,8) will never mathematically hit the (any) curve in YZ that you you are trying to intersect.
Can you post the drawing, showing the diemnsion you are trying to measure?
