If you request the t16 file in Simufact simulation, you should be able to get a t16 file, which can be imported into Mentat.
If node / element numbering in t16 and Marc model are consistent then pre-state with standard or position will work. Make sure results and Marc model are in consistent unit system.
You can try with a sample problem and validate the procedure.
@kiranraj shetty Thank you for the response. I am very new to Simufact. Can you point to the t16 output option in the software or the documentation on it?
@kiranraj shetty Thank you for the quick response. I should have been more specific. I was referring to Simufact Additive. Is there a way to write a t16 file there? Thank you!
I don't think there is an option to request t16 file in AM. You may try editing POST card in the dat file manually and check if t16 file can be generated.
In Additive it is difficult to output a t16 file, since we calculate with voxel technology. However, you can do the followings as a workaround:
Run the simulation in Simufact Additive
Create a new "dummy" process in Simufact Forming, e.g. a cooling process. Use the feature "Geometries - result from - other project" to import the result geometry of the Additive process (.amproj file) into the Forming process and assign the geometry to the workpiece:
Set up the model with other required settings, you may need the meshing, material, temperature etc. To accelerate the simulation you could set that the cooling process should only take 0,001s and only 1 increment should be written out in the "cooling control - general/ step control". In the "cooling control - output divisions - addtional output" you could select "write a t16 result" and run the job.
Then you should get the t16 file of the 0-increment, also the same with the result from the Additive process.
I hope the answer is not too late and could help. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.
