Cannot generate support structure for lattice structure in Simufact Additive

Hi all,

I'm currently doing research based on the lattice structure. I find difficulty to generate support structures on simufact additives. The size file is 46331KB. It took a few days, and the software will shut down without generating the support structure.

I already tried to reduce the number of faces to generate support structure , however, the support structure still cannot be generated.

Here is the attachment regarding the matters,

1. Cannot click ok, as result the software will shut down

2. Selected certain faces to generate support structure

3. The simulation stuck on search the faces for support and shutdown

Is there any solutions regarding this matter ?

Hi @Nurasyrani Rabuan ,

I guess the issue could be related to the large number of available faces of the complex lattice structure, but normally if you reduce the number of faces the support generation should also work.

The software crash may also be a bug, in this case we would recommend you to try other methods like "CADS Additive", because we no longer support the "Materialise" method since the version 2022.1 thus bugs regarding this should not be processed with high priority.

If you can send us the CAD file of your lattice structure (Email to support@simufact.de), we are gladly to take a closer look at the problem and maybe we can find a way to generate reasonable support structures based on the selected faces. Generally for complex geometries, it is also advisable to generate the support structures externally with other programs and import them to Simufact Additive.
