What does the peak temperature represent in the results? Does it refer to the average of the overall temperature at nodes? Also, how can I find out the efficiency value for my laser welding simulation? whar is the normal range for the simulation?

  • The peak temperature is the highest temperature reached at the node considered during the process. If it is above the melting temperature, it indicates that the material was molten there. There are other useful temperature limits, too.

It is not an average of the temperature of different / multiple nodes.

The efficiency value is calibrated based on experimental data / experience of the size of the heat effected zone. See the Simufact Welding tutorial for details. For typical values check our Demos & Examples.
