What is the best way to model a flexible part where the part is not attached to any other rigid part; only contacts take place to keep the part in place. Any suggestions?
Thanks

The flex spring has a geometry such that it will have contact with other parts in almost all its outer surfaces.
That makes it a complex solution. I was planning to select certain areas of the flex spring and allow them to solve the contacts and increase the contact areas if needed (depending on the response precision) I am trying to get info on ideas to simplify and provide accurate results. Any ideas welcome. Thanks a lot Juan
You can also break your flex body into several smaller flex bodies that are connected together with fixed joints. This might help minimize the areas/zones of the flex body contact.
I second Jim's suggestion of multiple flexible parts chained together. Springs tend to be non-linear and a single MNF might not be proper for the full range of motions (at least not if you have so much deformation as to get coil-coil contact).
