I think you're giving up too easily with that manual. I just looked at the one I referenced and it does say at the start:Please note that the presented tutorials might not be completely up to date with Digimat 2017.1!
However, as the general workflow has not drastically changed, the examples have been added for educational purpose.
As a user whose never been through it before I managed to follow through the tutorial and get the answers, the forms had some minor changes but it was pretty much the same and guided me through it.
