Easy5 2024.2 is now available at the Software Download Center.
This release contains a few enhancements to the Thermal Hydraulics library:
Thermal Hydraulics (HC) Library Enhancements
- A component to facilitate multiple moving mass models, CT, has been added. CT provides a way to connect two sliding masses together. All HC Library mass components can connect to each other via a CT.
- VD, a differential valve (back-to-back check), was added.
- TI, a component modeling two interlocked sliding masses, was added.
- Two new three-mass components have been added:
- T3 - Three nested masses
- TY - Three adjacent masses
- A new demo model (ShockAbsorber) was added.
- The AG (Accumulator) component has an additional option for storage port connectability.
- The MO (Simple Motor) component now has a configuration to input rotational velocity.
- Support was implemented for gravitational field strength other than at the Earth's surface. This primarily affects pressure drop in elevated pipes and external free convection heat transfer. Set the global value of acceleration in the FP component.
Basic Hydraulic (HB) Library Now Obsolete
With Easy5 2024.2, the Basic Hydraulic (HB) Library has been deprecated. When any models using HB library components are opened in Easy5 version 2024.2 or greater, all HB components will be automatically converted to HC library components, which should function identically to their HB library counterparts.
Messages related to the conversion will appear both in the background shell and in the message window in the Easy5 GUI.
If you included an HB library FP component in your model, it will also be converted to HC library.
Models that contained both HC and HB library components will have necessarily included FP components for both libraries. After the conversion, you will need to delete one of the FP components in order to build your model and run analyses.
