Between Easy5 versions 2013 and 2023.1 (inclusive), Easy5 runtimes were not license managed. This means that a user could run an already built/exported Easy5 model executable, DLL, or FMU (especially from within another software package) without having access to an Easy5 license. This was true for both Windows and Linux.
However, beginning with Easy5 2023.2 onward, these runtime licenses are now license managed. This means that for those users wishing to give an Easy5 model, DLL, or FMU to another user, the target user's machine must have access to an Easy5 license.
It is important to realize that users who upgrade to a newer version of Easy5 (2023.2+) from an older version will then incur a token usage increase for the identical same workflow because now more tokens are being pulled for the runtime licenses. This may mean that customers who were close to their token limit before, may now exceed the available tokens at their disposal and be prevented from utilizing the software in the way they have become accustomed.
