  • You are correct in that the PA component cannot model this poppet configuration. I would suggest one of two options. 1) Create a table of flow area vs. poppet stroke and put that in the model where you would have put the PA. or 2) Use a FO Fortran component to put in the flow area equation (area=pi*seat_dia**2*stroke) to calculate the flow area for a given seat diameter and the variable stroke. That would go where the PA would normally go.
  • Hi Rick,

    Thanks a lot your advice. I will apply first option. However, I have a bigger problem:). I shared system schematic diagram and easy5 model as attachment file.

    I start to explain the case:

    Pressure Vessel gas recharge period;
    selenoid system open the poppet valve and gas flow inside the vessel chamber. In vessel chamber, gas flow into the check valve to the big volume chamber in the vessel.

    Pressure vessel gas Decharge period:

    Unbalance pressure is vessel and piston move to below. Then open the actuator feed pipe gate, high pressure gas go to the actuators.

    I try to make 1 d model in easy5 software. However I need your support for make true model.

  • You are on the right track for sure. Some questions:
    1) You have several flow multipliers in the model. Does this mean that there are multiple copies of the poppet valve pairs that are acting on the same actuator?
    2) Where is the actuator feed pipe connected to (the piston side or the rod side of the actuator)?
    3) Is the feed pipe gate controlled by the piston movement or is it controlled by another separate poppet?
    4) Are the gas recharge and discharge poppets controlled by the same solenoid or two different solenoids?
    5) You have two PI components in the model to consider water hammer. Do you specifically want to consider that? If so, that is the correct component to choose. Otherwise, I would use PR instead. Using PI will make your model less robust and run slower than using PR.
    6) What version of Easy5 are you using?
