Integrator reset

I am playing with a control system design where I integrate the error signal to drive a valve. When the error signal crosses zero (changes sign), I would like the integrator to reset to 0 (my valve opens fully)

I don't know if this is a valid control approach.

I saw an integrator with reset in the general library, but the reset trigger can not be connected to another signal (like error)

Is there a way to reset an integrator from an outside signal, or should such things not be done.

thanks

  • Good news! Product development has added this feature in the next version of Easy5. This will be integrated into the existing IR integrator in the GP library. The integrator reset will be configurable to be either internal or via an external trigger input.  If you need access to this capability sooner, please let me know by sending me a DM, or opening a support case via SimCompanion or sending an email to easy5.support@mscsoftware.com.
