Referring to the attached photo of my .bdf, it looks like the 2 contacts (denoted with XXXXX_T) don't have an associated BCBDPRP along with a friction coefficient. I made these independent ties, then followed the video guide on using the Edit Contact utility to switch them to touching and input a friction. I know it does something since it renames the ties with _G or _T, but looking through the .bdf it looks like they are all still glued. Am I misunderstanding the .bdf?
Sorry, that may be my fault. The custom tools I sent you a couple of weeks ago were for 2021, but I can see from the error log that you're running 2021.1. There was a change in the Export Utils tool between the two versions. 2021.1 tools attached.
Do you know how to remove/clear the utilities before re-adding them? I swapped out the folders but still receive the same error. I'm wondering if they loaded properly.
Normally just stopping/restarting Apex should be enough. Is it giving the error at the same line number?
File "C:/Users/elijah.lamppin/Documents/MSC_Apex Workspace/Custom Tools 2021.1/Apex Utilities/Utilities/Export/ExportUtils/src\bdfExport.py", line 375, in main
scenario1.exportFEModel(
If so then it's definitely still using the old code for some reason.
Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately it still throws an error. I even made a dummy model using two boxes and have the same issue (log file attached).
This should be accessible from the Interoperability Tools icon on the custom tools strip:
What does your set of custom tool icons look like? I think (but correct me if I'm wrong!) that you may be accessing that tool from an extra Utilities icon (just below the ones in that screenshot) that shouldn't actually be there - it's a duplication of some of the tools and has older versions. I'm not sure why it's there - it may be something I hacked into my installation at some point. If that's the case I can only apologise for the confusion.
If I'm right, then you can switch off the the extra icon in the Application Settings by unselecting the Utilities item, like so:
