I mostly live in linear staticland, so I don't play much in SOL400. I'm running a large-displacement static analysis and want to surppress print output of the various results to my f06 file. When I used PLOT in the output request in subcase control, however, it's suppressing those outputs in both the f06 *and* in the .xdb, .op2, .h5, or master/dball. Is this a normal behavior for sol400? Am I unable to suppress print output? Normally it wouldn't matter much to me, but it's increasing simulation time by more than a factor of two and now I have an unmanageably-large f06 file.
Hi- what you are describing doesn't sound appropriate. The "PLOT" tag in the output request works the same for SOL400 as the other solution sequences. It definitely shouldn't cause the results to NOT be on the post-processing file (xdb, op2, Master/dball,hd5). There might be additional output in a SOL400 run, such as nonlinear stress results... these can be avoided using NLSTRESS(PLOT)=ALL. If needed, we can take this off-line to a standard support case and maybe you can send a sample demonstrating the issue.
Thanks for the quick answer - we're confused over here, too, since I just converted the file to run sol101 and got the same result - it ran (quickly), didn't bother to create an hdf5 or xdb (I had requested both), and the f06 just said " No PARAM values were set in the Control File." and ended after it echoed my model input (I had several PARAM values, among them PARAM POST 0). I think I'll go to a formal support case.
