Using glued contact to connect epoxy to a set of lenses; both modeled as solid elements. I am running into convergence problems as the static load is stepped up.
There is some gapping between the solids as the geometry/mesh is not perfect. although the mesh density cross-section of the contact area is a close match.
The node-to-segment method generates errors due to SPCs on the adjacent surface of the epoxy use to support the model during analysis.
Thank you for the guidance. I am reviewing my results and they look much improved over my initial attempt. Although I see anomalous regions of high stress proximate to the glued interface on some of the components. When I plot the deformed shape, one side of the glued interface -the epoxy supporting the component- I see excessive deformation as well.
