How to get started in ODYSSEE CAE when I do not have any data?

I have freshly installed and opened ODYSSEE CAE. But how do I start if I have no data?

  • Before even opening ODYSSEE CAE, the first thing to do is to think about the problem you are studying, and state it so that it is clear:

    • What is the system analyzed?
    • How does it overall behave?
    • What are the parameters in input?
    • What are the responses in output?
    • How is the system modeled? (Finite Elements simulation, physical experience...)
    • What is the final goal to achieve with the predictive model? (Export as FMU, look for an optimal result, predict animations...)

It is very important to have a clear vision of the problem studied so that it can be easily stated and configured in ODYSSEE CAE.

Once this has been drawn, there are 4 steps to follow:

    1. Generate a Design Of Experiments (DOE) i.e. a collection of parameters values combinations to represent the system possible variations, which will constitute the X part of the database.

    2. Run the models corresponding to these parameters values combinations.
    3. Extract the desired results from the models executed, which will complete the database with the Y part.
    4. Create the project in ODYSSEE CAE and fill the database in the Data manager.
