I'm hoping someone can help. I have been using and programming PC-DMIS for about a year and my company is thinking of buying a Wenzel, which uses Open DMIS, instead of the B&S that I want. Does anybody know anything about the machine or software? Any help would be appreciated.
We were looking at a CMM with OpenDMIS for our next new CMM purchase. I asked them for a demo and they set up a webinar for me. At the end of the weninar they sales manager for Xpect offer to come to Texas set up and offline seat demo and give me a 2-3 hour of training so I could demo the software. I thought the software stunk to high heaven. The first thing I noticed was that even though they advertize that OpenDMIS works with the PH20 the offline seat doesn't. Other pains were the fact that even on the offline seat you have to calibrate your angles. OpenDMIS is cumbersome (IMO). If I really got used to OpenDMIS it would be alright, but I was using PCD before any training and didn't have near the problems I had trying to use OpenDMIS.
