Education

Worked as a machinist for 18 years, then moved into quality12 years ago, where I was introduced to the wonderful world of CMM's.Making a long story short, I am now flailing away on a Browne & Sharpe Global using 2009MR1, with a LEVEL 1 class under my belt.I recently tried to register for the LEVEL 2 class, only to be told that I WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER WITHOUT THE LATEST VERSION OF SOFTWARE, which has my employer looking at other software options.Curious if anyone else has had this terrific experience when if comes to supported (or unsupported) software.

  • What types of stuff are you looking to learn? How long have you been "flailing"?

The reason I ask is because If you have been working with PC-DMIS for a while now you may not be impressed by what the offer in their #2 class. I would highlu think about looking at brining someone in that can tailor the class/training to your needs and not the benobo sitting in the seat across from you.

Thanks James.I certainly used the wrong word with "flail".But I have to have enough humility to assume I can use any type of training, or get something out of any class offered (or not offerred at this point by Hexagon).I became stuck with best fit alignments when trying to use the application with respect to a composite tolerance.I will certainly approach my employer with some of the information you have passed along to me.I appreciate the info.
