I’ve had that happen a number of times with non-Renishaw styli. In 25+ yrs, never had it happen with Renishaw though.
Never tried re-gluing them either. If you try it, let us know how well it calibrates. A smidgen of glue gets on the ruby in the wrong place it could cause erroneous results if that area does’t touch the artifact during calibration.
