That's faulty logic. A lot of companies will happily drop hundreds of thousands of dollars each on high-end machine tools, but are unwilling to get a CMM that is actually capable of properly measuring their parts and only costs a fraction of what the machine did. Let alone trying to convince ANYONE that a $100-200 stylus is really a consumable item, not a durable item...

I've never had a problem getting my company to order tips. I actually had a manager laugh when I need a signature for a new tip.
