Just picked it up yesterday. Haven't flown it yet, or shall I say crashed yet. Hopefully the weather tomorrow is decent. If all goes good Maybe I'll post some video. supposed to be 4K quality
I was scared to fly because I kept hearing about flyaways. Now that I have flown it I want to fly it more. I am ordering another battery or two so I can fly longer. I had an amazing time and it handled beautiful, even though it was real windy.
Mine is a phantom 3 so im not sure about tripod mode, I used beginners mode which limits the height and distance to 30M. Once I get full control I will change that. Right now my problem is getting used to the controls once I turn the camera. I want to be able to turn it as I mean to. Right now because its my first flights I have to move and sometimes its correct sometimes not.
I cant wait to get more time in and actually get some good videos. I was trying to chase a bird, haha
Update Schlag oh boy, This tiny little thing handled pretty nice in the wind. We had some off and on wind 10 to 15 mph, This thing held its own, You could hear when it was up close, the fans pick up speed or slow down just to keep it coordinates. Pretty steady machine
That's what I found with the Phantom3. The wind was 10/15 gusts and it stayed stable. You could hear the motors running to compensate for the gusts. What amazing technology and I cant wait to fly again.
Well worth the money spent.
Yeah its there, only when the Drone is on. On the left where your Takeoff button and the Home button. There will be another one popup it may look like a drone Icon or remote Icon. Click on that and you will see different modes. Like I said this icon is not there until the drone is up and running.

I will check it out when I connect again. I never heard or read about that so I figured it was only for the Mavic.
But I guess they both use the DJI go app.
I bought an Ipad mini 4 to use and it works nice. I also got the sunshade for it. I didn't really watch the screen much because I was watching the drone but I know as I fly more I will use the screen more.
Its so touchy so I need to get used to slowly going from one direction to another so it doesn't jerk around. My biggest issue was figuring out which direction to move it. When the camera is facing away the controls are easy but once you turn the drone around the controls are backwards so getting used to that is my hurdle now. I want to control everything on purpose without much thought so I need to get some more hours in.
I am addicted now and cant wait, I should've charged my battery so I could fly at lunch.
I thought I was recording the first time but still unsure. I hit record before I took it up but never looked at the screen to see if it was recording.
The second time I flew I hit record and about 10 min later I looked at the screen and it wasn't recording so I pressed record. I know I have some video but haven't figured out how to retrieve it yet. I had a SD card reader I can check on the computer but I think I can just connect and look through my ipad.
I am going to watch yours now.
