What do you take to the range?

Here's what I take! It's my COVID-1911

  • I used to carry the DW 15-2 (wearing the 2.5" barrel) every day but I've had a few health issues come up and that gun weighs 40 oz loaded and picked up the S&W 360 for an even trade on another gun I had and it is MUCH easier to carry as it weighs 15 oz loaded and it is surprisingly accurate for only having a 1.875" barrel. My 15-2 is probably the most accurate carry handgun I have carried as my EDC and have decapitated rabbits at 15 yards when they were feasting in the wife's garden

My non-powder fun is my Anderson compound bow. They were a little known company that made good equipment.

I had an AR once, just didn't shoot it enough for me to want to keep it. My mini-14 is with me whenever I head to the woods. While the mini is not as accurate as an AR, I find it more fun to shoot and I want to pick up a mini-30 this next year as I originally bought the mini-14 for my daughter (she had one stolen 20 years ago). I told her she can have it after I'm gone but I'll give it to her before I go because I want to see the happiness on her face.
  • I almost forgot my trusty Ruger 10/22, I love that gun.

The other one I forgot is a very special gun to me. VIS Radom 35. It was my grandfathers and it was given to me before he passed away. It is a German 9mm modeled after the 1911. He was in WW2, killed a Nazi officer and took his gun. It has all the Nazi proof marks on it too.
  • I'd like to pick up another 10/22. I had one many year ago and it was by far one of the .22 semi-autos I have ever owned. I've got two .22s now, the Mark III and an old single shot bolt action. I watch the local Armslist quite a bit (I got the .22 rifle and my S&W 360 from local private sellers) and you can find some really good deals there. I'm looking f or a Hi Point .45 carbine if I can find one for less than new prices. A friend of mine has one and he loves it, it feeds anything he puts through and it is pretty accurate for a 16.5" barrel and open sights.
  • A-machine-insp.....What a prize from your grandfather! Fingers crossed...Picture?
