Arm with Scanner

Well we just purchased a Romer with blue light scanner, This will be the first one I ever worked with. Technically we are getting this for the machinist to scan over the parts quickly on various operations, plus there has been times we had some funky parts with very tight profile tolerances. This is suppose to save me time, because I'm backed up on the CMM writing programs.......wait that means I got to write at least simple programs for the arm, yeah this will make things fasterRolling eyes. Maybe I can keep it simple enough to get them to make simple programs for simple checks???? Well it ought to be fun.
  • @KP61DUDE I love to test everythings limit, If somethings rated to go at 90 MPH, cool, let's see what happens at 100 mph. Just like my computer overclocked everything until it stop working or blue screen, backed it up a tad, and she's running as fast as she can till she breaks. and as far as the salesman part, I kind of go by what my ol man told me when I was young " Son you can be anything in the world you want to be, anything. Except a Salesman , Politician, or Lawyer. Because If your anyone of those, I'll never believe a word you say"
  • So Friday I got an update about the Arm and Scanner, That I should be getting it early this week. So I text my Sales guy yesterday, "When you said early next week, did you mean later this week" He responded "Just got bad news. All orders are backed up as we are awaiting on a shipment of scanners THAT SEEM TO BE LOST SOMEWHERE. I am being told orders are probably backed up until end of the month. Very sorry for the delay."
I responded "Really? This is not acceptable I hope you can throw in a computer with an offline seat or something" I still have not gotten any response. So disappointed in Hexagon. Their service is terrible, and where in the world did you misplace scanners? If these things are golden, you would think there would be a little better trace on them, and if there is an import export problem, how bout you send them to Mexico, there seems to be no problem with things coming across that border. Hexagon will probably be more on deleting this post then taking care of their customers. This is pi_ss poor.Angry

Pick an issue for an excuse:

    [ ] Middle East Conflict
    [ ] Gas Shortage
    [ ] Border Crisis
    [ ] Covid-19

Don't forget the source of the problems... The guy "elected" to office and the sham of a party behind him.

Sorry, something happened at work today, directly related to what I wrote above, that really set me off. I should probably stay off of here for the rest of the day or at least out of the off-topic section.
  • The Boss and I are going to sit down and talk, we are thinking about backing out, and look a little further into RENISHAW, yeah they are a little more expensive. But at least they are reliable.

I like to call him President Green Screen.

Why not? There is viable options out there. Go for it.

I can't post the names I have for him. They will all get censored.

To the point of the post... I agree with . If there is a viable option, you and your boss should do your due diligence in exploring all options. We have 5 CMMs here and they all have Renishaw wrists and sensors on them.

It just gets old after awhile. This isn't a first time event with these people. This is on going thing.
