god help me, it might finally be time to take that offer to go back to the calypso side

  • today I floated the idea that they might be shooting too high for their entry to CMM inspections. I asked what they have in mind and it was a fair size zeiss, clean room built for it the works ya know, some of the parts have really tight specs. They are too focused on one machine that can do everything they need, maybe a better start is a small 4.5.4 shop floor that the shipping guy can operate as he packs parts in the box(could train him to operate in no time), knowing their product at least half of it could run like that... takes their start up budget from 200k to less than 50k for a used 4.5.4

    you guys might not get rid of me that easy :P

    within days of setting that little fkr up I could have final inspections happening as parts came off the machines, instant feedback to machinists in process and lean as it eliminates taking parts to the CMM and pretty much the entire activity of final inspection for a great deal of product. I urge them to take the inspections to the shop floor in process as much as possible rather than haul finished parts to the qc lab for verification
