yes shifts as fast as .05 seconds in semi automatic transmissions if you got the cash for it... I don;t and want the gearbox and clutch I can service myself, also think for the street I'd rather see more people put down the fkn phone and grab a stick.. it forces your focus to be more on driving the car
I think that is the number 2 reason as well, the top reason is just laziness so people can commute like half awake zombies... maybe if some of them saw the repair bills coming for their automatic transmissions they would have chosen manual
that is the 5.7 hemi rated at 375 hp and 410 ftlb torque... had it a month with not one ticket yet if you wanna believe that lol, had a totally clean license for some time now. I did do some 0-60 testing on the highway at night and the best I could hit was 5.8 seconds had trouble with wheel spin. I think the car could do better at least mid 5s dumping the clutch at 2000rpm with traction control on but I kept it off... better tires and the new control arms going into the rear end will help ask me again in summer
A T-bird! I used to drive one in my teenage years. Was a fun car to whip around in the dirt fields. We put a mustang trans when the stock one gave out... made a noticeable difference.
It has the 4.6l v8 (not the PI, but beggars can't be choosers at $700). Also, I put 4.56 gears into it, so I get wheel spin in any gear while in dirt. 8-)
500 is symbolic of the possibility of the route length and the approximate vehicle cost...
However, Fun>Rules, and the only rule to the Gambler500 is "Don't be a D!ck". You can show up in anything you want to participate, and i have yet to do a full 500 mile gambler event, but have absolutely done out of state gambler events, which netted me over 1600 miles round trip.
Douglas That's awesome, I wish I could say the same about my record. I'm not surprised you had trouble w/ wheel spin. I've clocked mine 0-60 @ 4.8 with no wheel spin, but it was close.
