Calypso Converter

Is Calypso Converter going to be in 2024.2 or is it still being worked on for a later release?

  • Anyone remember the Tutor to PC-DMIS converter?  Astonished  Translated everything except the critical stuff. Yup... a real timesaver.

Calypso converter seems a fine idea, but why would Hexagon spend time to create such a product (if at all possible)???

IMHO, they are not in business to assist folks who are in bed with a competitor's product.  2¢

  • I was only asking because it was a project that Hexagon decided to work on some time in the past few years. It seems development has stopped, and, to your point, I wouldn't blame them. It would be a nice feature to help end users that might be on the fence when considering switching to PC-DMIS, especially if they have a large library of Calypso programs.

A converter is possible. At one point I had made some decent progress on a converter of my own. Calypso programs are all encoded in a human-readable text file. A deep study and a lot of testing can be done to decipher the syntax.

  • Absolutely, Jacob! A large library of  N (fill in the vendor) converting to N2 (the other guys) would be a godsend for any customer!  I think if memory serves, didn't the Z guys offer a translator ?
