Error Codes

Place any error codes You may have got. With Information on software and machine type. With your work around or fix that helped.
  • E error

Did the program that was running at the time use the text only report? The E error is generated from the text only report template. It was from mine anyway. I went to the Graphical Analysis report template, and then went to the bottom of the report window. Right clicked/edit object/use text mode dimension reporting. I have not seen it since.

  • ALT Sterilization

The Error: ALT Sterilization error is a corruption of your part program.
When ever PC-DMIS opens a program it is also writing new data (Last Measurement Information) to it. If a windows application crash happen the program may not get closed properly or only part of the information was written to the part program. Another cause of the sterilization error is using a earlier version of PCDMIS to open a program that was written in a later version.
Example Write a program in 3.7mr2, Open that program in 4.2, try to open again in 3.7 mr2 you will most likely get a sterilization error.
When ever you use the file/close command within PCDMIS the program that is open will be re-written out to the Hard drive. The file/Quit does not re-write the program.

  • I got that serialization error a couple of days ago. When checking the filesize of the 'serialized' program and the backup (the exact same program) the 'serialized' program was 148 kb bigger than it's twinbrother? Don't tell me it is due to a third program that crashed in the background making the serialization occur - because I don't think a third program has anything to do with this problem.

However, I solved it by saving the program again, letting the error messagebox annoy me a couple of times. If I opened the program up again and saved it, it would pop up again, telling me about the serialization... I then closed the program, renamed the <program>.CAD-file, opened the program up, saved it (no serialization error), renamed the CAD-file back to the original name, opened the program up and saved and no serialization error!

So if it sterilizes the program, does that mean it cant reproduce?Stuck out tongue closed eyes
