I just had Cad++ installed and I am having problems when I probe a hole and my probe retracts past the center of the hole and hits the back of the hole which inturn retracts and hits the front of the hole and goes into a loop of back and forth hits. I went to F10 then to motion and changed my prehit and retract distance but it did not help at all. Could a setting changed when Cad++ was installed? If so how do I fix it?
Just before the circle> press enter for a blank line> type "Prehit" by the time you get to "h" it should be autofllling,> press the tab key once> type the value you want the prehit to be (less than the radius of the hole) > press enter for another blank line > type "Retract" and do the same.
Repeat this process after the hole. I usually copy/paste both lines and just change the value.
Best practice for general use is about 3mm or .150", but this can be different for different machines. If the value is too small the machine will not "settle down" sufficiently after moving rapidly before taking the hit, there by degrading the accuracy and repeatability.
