Retract distance problem

I just had Cad++ installed and I am having problems when I probe a hole and my probe retracts past the center of the hole and hits the back of the hole which inturn retracts and hits the front of the hole and goes into a loop of back and forth hits. I went to F10 then to motion and changed my prehit and retract distance but it did not help at all. Could a setting changed when Cad++ was installed? If so how do I fix it?

  • I was under the assumption that the prehit and retact inside a circle were basicly " OVERRIDDEN " based on the circle size ? I usually use .1 for a prehit and retract after the DCC, coded in each program, and I have NEVER had an issue inside of holes ( Using AUTO and MEASURED features ) that were smaller than that ? I know on the really old versions of Dmis this was something that you had to control.

Newer versions of pc-dmis do this as you say, mostly, except for when they don't. The main time I need to adjust prehit and retract is for small slots, grooves, pockets, & the like.

Asking the OP to hard code prehit and retract immediate before feature that is fouling out is a fast, easy way to make sure that is not the problem before digging around in the settings registry or suspecting the installation of CAD++ went awry somehow.
