Attempted to open a Step cad file for a new program on our offline station. As soon as I click on File/Import/ Step I get an error message stating "You can not open M:\Part Programs 325\j.PRG for writing. Error code 0" Note: J is the actual program name. However, the Part Programs 325 folder name had been changed to Part Programs within the last month. Programs with Cad have been written after this change with no issues. I created a new program and imported the same cad file on our online CMM station. When I opened the program offline the cad file appeared with the program. I then tried to create an autocircle offline. The dialog appeared normal. I clicked on my feature and pressed end but the dialog will not close. The only way to get out of the dialog is to close pc dmis using the task manager.
One other detail; when I first started creating my program the computer didn't find the probe directory. It had a probe name but no tip angles and no other probe names listed. When I rebooted the probe file appeared as normal.
I had checked the Search Path earlier and reset it to the right folder. I then tried measuring my circle and the demon locked up and had to use task manager to get out of PC DMIS. Maybe I didn't hit apply although I thought I had.
Any way I've again reset the search path to what it should be AND hit apply and I've imported my cad file. I restarted PC DMIS again and for grins and giggles I checked my import path again. It had been set to my part program directory but now is showing where I had imported this particular file from.
It's still locking up when I do an autocircle. I can click on the cad, get my numbers, but when I close the dialog box, it locks up and the only way out is to reboot. It's also doing it with auto point. Measured Point and measured circle appear to be working correctly.
I've also rebooted the computer several times. The thing that gets me is that I've written a couple of offline programs with cad since my 'esteemed collegue' changed the directory name with absolutely no issues.
Maybe its a permissions issue on the folder that it is trying to use? Try running PC-MIS "As Administrator", then check the paths again, and APPLY if you change them
The big issue now is the lockup on autofeature. I know what I have to do to get the cad working but it really slows things down to only be able to do measured features instead of auto features.
Are you sure there is not a dialog hidden somewhere waiting for you to respond? Maybe a screen capture will help us see what you re seeing? Do you have "Measure Now" enabled? What other options are enabled in tat dialog? What other windows are open?
