I recently loaded Windows 10 on my PC with V 2015.1. I am having a few issues. #1 - I cant save to my C Drive anymore and if I open an existing program on C drive, I get "serialization error " and " File Closed because of bad archive" that kills program. #2 - With Datapage RT ,get errors "cannot update file DPUPDATE.EXE" . #3- Tried saving PDF Files from Report. It keeps updating like it's working but doesn't actually save the file. Everything looks as if it would be an issue with administrative rights on my PC, but I have full Privileges. My IT guy tells me it's PC-Dmis issue not windows 10 issue. I am looking for any advice I can get before I call hexagon.
I had most of the same problems you are having, so don’t feel alone. After three attempts and talking to tech, i just went back to old reliable 7. Maybe one day they will get it right.
You do not give any information of what you were running before upgrading.
what OS? 32 or 64 bit?
windows 10 is more protective/restrictive.
maybe try running as administrator.
you may need to give yourself full read/write privileges of all the directories used by pcdmis. Even the ones win10 wants to protect from yourself.
Upgraded from Win7 to 10. 32 Bit. From what I am seeing, even though I have full administrative Read/Write privileges, windows is making my folders on C drive read only. I researched windows 10 and found this to be a known issue. Tried all fixes mentioned online but still not working.
Mike B, I have learned a new thing. There is a fix from Microsoft regarding the inability to see server drive locations.
Fix: A registry entry modification can be applied so that the drives are connected at startup. See the Microsoft KB link provided. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937624 Registry editing steps. To configure the EnableLinkedConnections registry value, follow these steps:
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
Locate and then right-click the following registry subkey:
One sucky thing about DP+ with Windows 10, if you print to PDF, you can no longer print a PDF that has highlight-able text. Possibly will be fixed by DataPage+ 5.2 which comes out this week.
