pcdmis vs: virtual dmis

I was with a group of CMM operators and inspectors last week and there seems to be some confusion on which software is newer and better. PCDMIS or VIRTUAL DMIS. Does anyone out there know for sure so the issue can be put to rest?

The same fella that developed VD, developed opendmis. He and IMS (along with Keith and Henri) parted ways - and now have formed expect solutions.

That's why both VD and openDMIS look very similar (format).
I wonder who continues developing VD
