Fixed Rad Question

**Solved**

Ran program online using fixed rad method, the "code" method I posted below, and using "Relative To" (suggested by ).

All correlated w/in 0.0002.

Will be using the code method I posted below. Thanks all for the help!

When I need to measure a small arc, I use the fixed rad & origin method that is detailed in the help file.

Is it frowned upon or less accurate for any reason to do this instead?-->
CIR6       =FEAT/CONTACT/CIRCLE/DEFAULT,CARTESIAN,OUT,FIXED_RAD
            THEO/<0.026564,-0.046011,-0.015>,<0,0,1>,0.038157,0
            ACTL/<0.02656,-0.046003,-0.015>,<0,0,1>,0.038157,0
            TARG/<0.02656,-0.046003,-0.015>,<0,0,1>
            START ANG=120,END ANG=60
            ANGLE VEC=<0.8660254,0.5,0>
            DIRECTION=CW
            SHOW FEATURE PARAMETERS=NO
            SHOW CONTACT PARAMETERS=NO
CIR7       =FEAT/CONTACT/CIRCLE/DEFAULT,CARTESIAN,OUT,LEAST_SQR
            THEO/<CIR6.X,CIR6.Y,CIR6.Z>,<0,0,1>,0.038157,0
            ACTL/<0.02656,-0.046003,-0.015>,<0,0,1>,0.038157,0
            TARG/<CIR6.X,CIR6.Y,CIR6.Z>,<0,0,1>
            START ANG=60,END ANG=120
            ANGLE VEC=<0.8660254,0.5,0>
            DIRECTION=CCW
            SHOW FEATURE PARAMETERS=NO
            SHOW CONTACT PARAMETERS=NO

  • Super old post I know that I am digging out here but I would like to know if this method is indeed working. I have a small arc 45degs of an R4.5 fillet to measure (only care for its coordinates) and I am seeing huge dispersion. The question is... probing a fixed rad there and using its XYZ values as DAN suggested for a new probing of a LS circle would it improve anything? Anyone tried this already?
