If you are willing, I'd like to get an idea on something. I am wondering what the CMM Programmer pay range is nowadays. People who are willing, what is your location, pay and experience? I am nearly finished with an Engineering degree and just want to be sure I want to stay a CMM Programmer or move into an Engineering type role...
I'm in Southern Indiana. Been programming for 6 years with pretty proficient plate skills. Sitting at about $35 an hour right now (salary). My best results as far as pay goes and opportunities came from a T1 supplier. I am currently sitting in a spot to take over the metrology lab and PPAP coordinator position. As of last week I stepped into the supplier quality role along with my programming responsibilities. (haven't seen a pay raise yet but it is coming.) I have a high school diploma and that's it.
So as a programmer and with good quality background and problem solving skills you can climb the ladder.
