I am scanning a hexalobe and it is scanning good. The problem is in the report. It doesn't show where the scan is scanning and reporting the part way out. Why don't they match up closer? Here are some pics.
Not sure I follow bob, you say it shows good in the report, are you saying your profile is good, and on the graphics it shows what you you posted? Did you you do an Analysis view of your profile and put that in the report? Not sure what your asking.
the picture on the right is after the scan. it is bad. the picture on the left is where it actually scans the part. if I scan with points, the scan pretty much follows the profile but the report shows it is not close.
Maybe change your Scan to Points, You have to Close PC-DMIS completely Open up your Settings Editor Find DRAWSCANASPOINTS change the value from 0 to 1. Be sure to hit Save before you close it. This will change that scan scribble to points, might show a little more accuracy.
What version of PC-DMIS are you running? that says 2019R1 if you are running 2020 or something different, you need to find the settings editor that relates to what you are running.
Wait, In your picture I see a little bit of what looks like PC-DMIS in the background did you close PC-DMIS completely out or is it still open? you have to shut PC-DMIS down completely and then open Settings editor
When you click on "Connect" it will say "Machine not Responding" just hit ok or close or whatever it is. Then click on Find once it's connected type in DRAWSCANASPOINTS, no spaces, then you'll see the value it will say "0" change it to a "1" hit save and exit, count to 10 seconds, then open PC-DMIS back up, then your scans should show as points. You might have to right click on Settings Editor and Run As Administrator
